While some children learn to read, write, and spell with minimal supports within a typical classroom environment, many children need information presented to them in a variety of ways in order to learn to the best of their abilities. SOUNDS APART was created to do just this; to teach children how to read and write in the way that works best for them.

One-to-One Intensive Literacy and/or Numeracy Instruction

PRIVATE LITERACY and NUMERACY LESSON

SCHEDULE and TIMING:

Instructional Calendar: September 16th, 2024 - June 15th, 2025

Private Lesson Clinic Hours:

Monday - Thursday: 10:00 - 7:00 PM

Friday: 1:00 - 4:30 PM

Saturday: 10:00 - 4:00 PM

Sunday: 1:00 - 4:00 PM

DURATION: SOUNDS APART's intensive literacy lessons are 1.0 - 1.5 hours long depending on the needs of the child, their age, and their schedule.

  • Students work with us for a minimum of once, but up to three times per week at a time that works best for them and their family.

  • Literacy lessons last for the duration of the school year.

WHO DO WE WORK WITH: We work with students experiencing challenges in literacy and numeracy due to dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia, as well as students who have been identified by teachers as significantly below grade level in reading, spelling, and/or writing.

Literacy Education is HARD WORK! For this reason, we recommend that students with complex literacy needs work with us during the day when they are well-rested and ready to learn.

Cancellation Policy: Please be aware of Sounds Apart’s Payment and Cancellation policy: While Sounds Apart provides a full credit for classes we cancel, students must provide 24-hrs notice to change a class and rebook within the calendar month to receive a full credit for the missed lesson.

Withdrawal Policy: Please provide 30-days notice to withdraw from tutoring services. Notice provided less than 30-days before the end of the calendar month will result in 0% reimbursement of fees.
