Summer 2026 Literacy and Numeracy Lessons
General Information:
This summer we will be offering both group camps and one-on-one lessons.
Progress is best seen when students complete 2 weeks of programming, as many concepts can take time to cover, and best results occur over the course of multiple weeks. We are mindful that summer can be a busy time, with many different events occurring, and are happy to offer a flexible weekly schedule that works best for your family.
Registration Information:
For students entering grades 1-9, please Choose ANY TWO Weeks at any start-time.
For students entering grades 10-12, our programs will run over two consecutive weeks.

Private, One-on-One Lessons:
During the summer, we provide specialized, research-informed instruction for students entering Grades 1–9 who need to strengthen the foundational skills that support success across all subjects.
Our programs are designed and led by experienced literacy teachers and are grounded in the Science of Reading and evidence-based instructional practices. Each lesson is carefully structured to target the specific skills students need to become accurate, confident readers, writers, and problem solvers.
Weekly 60-minutes Private Lessons (up to three times per week available) Start-Times: 1:30 pm, 2:45 pm, 4:00 pm, 5:15 pm.
Summer Literacy Camps: Program Options
Students Entering Grades 1-9: Spelling, Reading Comprehension and Writing:
Students entering grades 1-9 will have the opportunity to engage in explicit spelling and reading fluency instruction while also engaging with stories in a variety of meaningful ways. Using the skills they learn during direct spelling instruction, they will then work through story elements, focusing on plot, characters, and creative story extension. Activities will be tailored to different age groups, allowing students to use mentor texts as a springboard for their own writing.
Following an SRSD approach to writing, students will work from sentence-level writing, up to paragraph writing, depending on their age and learning needs.
Students Entering Grade 9+: Reading Comprehension and Paragraph/Essay Writing
Students entering grades 9-12 will focus on reading comprehension and paragraph writing.
Lessons will focus on developing:
Metacognitive Skills: close reading and annotating
Developing thought-full discussions: talking points and how to listen-to and respond-to others
Summary writing, Response Writing, Essay Writing
Compare and contrast
Personal Response, or
Persuasive Essay
Weekly Summer Math Camps
All Camps will focus on:
Fluency = mastering basic facts and computation skills
Reading Comprehension = dissecting multi-step word problems
Unlike our literacy camps, please register NOT by grade level, but by the concept needing the most support. You can register in multiple programs over the summer.
Camp PROGRAM OPTIONS: You can register for more than one math program
1. Addition and Subtraction Option or Multiplication and Division Option
For one exciting week, young problem-solvers will dive into an interactive math adventure! Whether tackling addition and subtraction or multiplication and division, students will be taught how to ‘pull apart’ word problems in a fun, escape-room-style experience designed for those who love challenges.
Each day, they’ll work together to solve puzzles, riddles, and hands-on activities, unlocking clues to reach hidden treasure. Along the way, they'll strengthen their math computation and conceptual skills, develop critical thinking, and build perseverance—all with the guidance of expert tutors.
By week’s end, students will not only master essential problem-solving strategies but also gain confidence in applying math to real-world situations, setting them up for success beyond the classroom.
2. Fractions, Decimals & Percentages
Step into the exciting world of shopping and smart spending at Math Marketplace Camp! This hands-on, week-long adventure transforms math into a real-world shopping experience where students earn and spend "math money" while mastering fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Each day, students will take on new challenges—running their own stores, making savvy purchases, and calculating discounts, sales tax, and change. Through interactive activities, engaging games, and creative store simulations, they'll strengthen problem-solving skills and bring math to life in a fun, practical way.
With expert tutors guiding the way, students will build confidence in applying math to everyday situations. By week’s end, they’ll not only sharpen their understanding of fractions, percentages, and decimals but also develop valuable money management skills for the real world.
3. Geometry & Angles
Get ready for a vibrant, hands-on adventure at Geo-Art Math Camp! This unique camp blends geometry with art, transforming mathematical concepts into stunning masterpieces.
Each day, students will tackle exciting projects that explore geometric shapes, symmetry, patterns, and angles. From designing mosaics and optical illusions to constructing 3D sculptures, they’ll see how math shapes the world of art. Through hands-on exploration, they’ll measure angles, apply transformations, and strengthen their spatial reasoning.
Guided by expert tutors, students will build confidence in geometry while enhancing creativity and problem-solving skills. By week’s end, they’ll take home a collection of math-inspired artwork and a new appreciation for the beauty of geometry in everyday life.
4. Exploring Area, Volume & Perimeter
Calling all future designers! At Interior Design Math Camp, students will bring their creativity to life while mastering area, volume, and perimeter through exciting, hands-on challenges.
Each day, they’ll take on real-world design projects—planning bedrooms, theme parks, or game rooms—using math to calculate floor space, measure walls, and determine materials for paint, flooring, and décor. Through interactive activities and blueprint creations, they’ll apply math in fun, practical ways.
Guided by expert tutors, students will strengthen problem-solving skills, spatial awareness, and their understanding of math in design. By week’s end, they’ll take home their own creative masterpieces!
